Windows 10: Is there any way to disable the emoji button in the touch keyboard in Windows 10?

I would prefer if I could turn off the emoji option on the touch keyboard since it is really annoying how I always end up tapping it by accident when I am typing with it.

There are two ways of getting to the on-screen keyboard, and as it turns out they are different keyboards. If you use the on-screen keyboard app you get the keyboard without the emoji button, if you use the keyboard button in your system tray (normally bottom
right of your screen) you get the keyboard with the emoji button.

If you've upgraded to Windows 10 version 1709 (you can check by pressing the start button, typing 'winver' and pressing <Enter>) you may find the keyboard button in the system tray has disappeared (it did for me.) If this has happened right-click a blank
area on your taskbar and select 'Show touch keyboard button' - you should now see the button in your system tray. Click that and you should see the on-screen keyboard that includes the emoji button.

I can get the touch keyboard but it doesn't show the smiley emoticon .. how do i enable emoticons on it ?

Found this answer on superuser.com, and it helped me. I didn't have an icon on my taskbar and couldn't find this.

• Right-click on your Taskbar
  

• Select "Show Touch Keyboard button"
• You should then see the following keyboard if you click the keyboard icon to the far right of your taskbar (left of the clock):

• You can then click the smiley face to open the emoji keyboard.
