Windows 10: Is there any way to make Photos app not automatically add folders to "Sources"?

I am having an issue with the Photos app on Windows 10. On every restart, it keeps searching for and adding folders to "Sources".


Trouble is, it is also adding my OneDrive and iCloud photo folders, which are both set to remain online, which, of course, fills my drive with photos that I want to keep strictly online.


Is there any way to disable this behaviour?

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

I suggest you to remove and re-add the photos folder from Photo app. Follow the steps below:

• 
  Open Photos App.
  
• 
  Click on Settings.
  
• 
  Under Sources click on the X mark next to the folder location listed to delete the location from Photos App.
  
• 
  Once done try to re-add the folder by clicking on Add a Folder.
  
• 
  Restart the computer and check if issue persists.

Windows 10 Photo App: Source folder keeps changing

Did you even read my message with the image??

I've already done what you suggested (deleting source file in the photos app) many times. I set source to onedrive photos and periodically the photo app adds another source without me manually adding any additional sources.

 

Photo app showing photos even if there's no source folder selected


The photo app keeps showing old photos even though I've cleared all the source folders in the setting. Even if I add new source folders it'll show the new photos, but keeps insisting showing the old unwated ones from the folders that I've already removed from the setting.

How do I prevent the app from showing old photos and force it to show only the ones that are from the CURRENT source folders?
