    Is there any way to make the "show desktop" button only minimize windows on a single monitor?


    Hey, so I got a dual monitor setup. The thing that bothers me is that when I click on the "show desktop" button on the bottom right corner, it minimizes all windows, even the ones on the second monitor. I only use my second monitor for charts and Spotify, so I wouldn't like those to be minimized. Any way to make the button only minimize on my main monitor?

    Prevent the "Show desktop" button from minimizing windows on another monitor

    The button to show the desktop found in the bottom right corner, will minimize all windows across all monitors when clicked.

    I find this useful, but on my second monitor I usually run programs like Spotify which I rarely have the need to minimize.

    So basically I want the button to only minimize the windows on my primary display/monitor.

    Is there a free program that can handle the button click? Or is there an option in Windows 10?

    Windows 10 virtual desktops on a single monitor

    I am sorry; I do need to be more specific. I understand how to create virtual desktops by pressing "New desktop"; and how to select one from a "preview" of the active virtual desktops.

    The picture in the previous post shows a "preview" of five virtual desktops, of which one can be selected. But, unfortunately, selecting one desktop hides the other four desktops.

    I understand how to use Snap in Windows 7 to arrange windows. Is there something in Windows 10 to arrange virtual desktops like Snap arranges windows?

    As I asked in my original post, I want to show two virtual desktops side-by-side on a single monitor. In other words, how to emulate multiple monitors on a single monitor. To my way of thinking, if virtual desktops cannot be arranged to emulate multiple
    monitors then what is the point of them?

    I am participating in the Windows 10 Insider Preview and have experimented with virtual desktops. I will gladly experiment some more.

    I have seen Windows 10 virtual desktops touted as a solution for people with only a single monitor. At least to me, that implies virtual desktops can be arranged side-by-side to emulate multiple monitors.

    Is there a way to arrange virtual desktops to display side-by-side?
