Windows 10: Is there any way to switch to the HD movie version even if I already own the UHD version?

Hi. I bought a movie in the Microsoft store in UHD, where only the SD and HD versions contain an additional audio language, while UHD version contains English audio only. The problem is now that I cannot watch the movie with the other audio languages, since I can no longer separately buy or download the HD or SD version. Microsoft store tells me I already own the movie with no option to switch, change or refund, and there is no option in the Movies & TV app in Windows to switch to another version, and Audio is available in English only as to be expected in the UHD version, although ironic

Is it possible to upgrade previously purchased Movies from HD to UHD?

You see, I'm a collector and I've spent the past few years purchasing movies and tv shows alike through the Microsoft store. I've also made sure to purchase the highest quality available in every title and that's always been HD. Now it's 2023 and the highest picture quality nowadays is UHD/HDR. With that in mind, I want to know if it's possible to upgrade my movies to UHD. At least for the ones where UHD is available. I'd also prefer doing this in a way where I only must pay the difference between the two qualities (if it exists) instead of paying the full price.

HD Movie Maker Pro

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



We understand the concern as you would like to know the HD movie Maker Pro app interface. We would suggest you to check the screenshots of the app as shown in the

HD Movie maker page on Microsoft Store.



In the beginning when you click on New Project, you will be redirected to a black window with
5 options on the bottom line - Add clip, Arrange clips, Edit sound, Save project and Save video. Now you need to click on
Add clip and select photos/videos from the PC. Once the selected file appears on the black screen, then you will be able to see the other tools for editing.



We also need to check which version of the app is installed, as there are some additional features gets added with different version. You can check the Description section in
HD Movie maker page on Microsoft Store. If
you still have issue with the app then we would suggest you to contact the app publisher through email provided after the
Description section.
