Windows 10: Is there anything I can do to solve this screen problem?

My Samsung NP355E7C-S09DE notebook has served me faithfully and has acquired very high mileage thru daily use since Jan. 2013. Earlier today though, after using it at home, I went to another place, turned it on them as I was using it, thought I noticed some translucent rectangular region, which I first thought was caused by one of the many opened windows, somehow showing thru another on top of it. After several tests this did not go away and appeared to be on the outside of the opened windows. My hope was a new start, but then that is when I discovered the problem was on the outside, probably a hardware issue.
My desperate question is, is there anything I can do to correct this MYSELF?

If it's a hardware problem, same question. Actually the problem came all of a sudden, there was no falling or anything happening to the notebook, at least then. At the time, though I was working outside with 4°C, BUT that has never been a problem before.

It is not worth sending it for repair, as in case it is the monitor, it would cost much more than the notebook and the money I have.

Is there anything that I can do to correct this? What could be the cause of this problem, some loose cable?


[Windows 10 pro, 64bit, almost all Windows Updates installed, except a recent one a few weeks ago, uninstalled, which somehow seems to delete WPA2 Enterprise Wifi credentials] All other software up to date

I think one of this suggestions may solve your problem, but try first with the powershell command. let it run overnight. If no result, then continue with the next steps ...
