Windows 10: Is there automatic backup to One Drive?

Howdy,


I have just started using Windows 10.


I cannot add my files to One Drive because I understand they would no longer be in a folder on the C drive. My new Win10 computer has an SSD to make file access faster, so I wouldn't want to be downloading them when opening, slowing things down even more than a standard HDD. Also, the files have tens of thousands of hard-coded links between them that would no longer work.


I've learned I could copy my files to One Drive instead of putting them there, but this manual system requires me to figure out what files and folders I have changed each day. I would like an automatic backup system, say one that once or twice a day, goes through a folder and backs up files with extensions I have specified so it's less likely I could lose my data.


Can One Drive leave my files where they are and automatically backup all files with specific extensions for me?

Automatic backup

I'm trying to setup automatic backup. In windows 7 I have it setup but it doesn't backup everything in that folder it backs up only stuff that was edited which causes confusion. Is there any easier way to automatically backup everything in a single folder to my external hd

 

Cheap automatic backup for My Documents

Backing up to a flash drive is easy(though I would use an external hard drive, as they tend to fail less than a flash drive).

You can use a bat file with the robocopy command to do the automatic backup.

As for online backup, both Mozy and iDrive offer 2GB of free online backup space.
