    Removing the movable taskbar is a terrible idea and will block me from upgrading to Windows 11.The case for the movable taskbarI exclusively use laptops, so I don't have a lot of screen height, most laptops are 16:9these days which means you get way more width than is needed for websites, office applications, terminals, etc. But that precious height determines how soon you have to scroll, if that block of code can fit on the screen or not I never make blocks that big, so maybe an extra block in my case. The point is height space is precious and width space is not, so why does my OS deman

    Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



    If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

    • Right click on Taskbar.
    • Click on Properties
    • Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
    • Click on OK.

    Please share the information below:

    • Are you using a Local Account or a Microsoft Account?
    • What is the make and model of your PC?

    I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Right click on the Taskbar and select Properties.
    • Check if the option for Lock the Taskbar and Auto-hide the taskbar
      are ticked.
    • If they are ticked then uncheck the option for Auto-hide the taskbar.

    Also, suggest you to update the Display driver by following the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X, select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update.

    Auto-hide taskbar on second monitor only.

    Hello,

    Please let us know which build are you currently in?

    If you are in build number: 14342, I suggest you to follow the steps below to
    hide taskbar on second monitor and check if it helps:


    • Right click on the Taskbar and Go to
      settings
      .

    • Click on the taskbar option.

    • Under Multiple displays you can turn off the option for
      Show taskbar on all displays.
