    tile names/pin to start

In Windows8 I was able to rename the tiles I pinned to start. i.e.: I pinned all of my payment sites that I use to start, they appeared with random url titles so I changed them to reflect the name of the company & the due date. I can not seem to be able to do this in Windows10. Can anyone help?

How to rename a tile pinned to the start screen in Windows 10?

I hesitate to add this suggestion (because it has way too many steps and because the real solution is to allow direct renaming of Start Menu tiles), but there is another work around. Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere:

    1. Change (if needed) Windows 10 to the Desktop mode.

    2. Open the desired webpage in Firefox.

    3. Left click and drag the "i" icon (just to the left of the URL) to your desktop, which will create a shortcut to the webpage.

    4. Right click the shortcut and select Rename.

    5. Rename the short cut as desired.

    6. Right click the shortcut again and select Copy.

    7. Past the shortcut into the C:\Users\<user name goes here>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder.

    8. Find the shortcut in the Start Menu All Apps list.

    9. Right click the shortcut in the All Apps list and select Pin to Start.

On the upside, the name of the resulting Start Menu tile occupies one or two rows as needed, and can be edited (renamed) by right clicking it and selecting More > Open file location. On the downside, the icon on the resulting tile is smaller than it should
be. An example tile using Edge Pin To Start is shown below, on the left. The same website, which you can now see is the Microsoft Office Dev Center, pinned to the Start Menu using the procedure above, is shown on the right.

I'll end with an editorial comment. Common Microsoft, you can do better than this!

Rename Tiles pinned to Start on Windows 10? Already been to MS store. Used to be easy on 8.1.

The only way I can find for Win8 is by setting the name prior to actually creating the shortcut tile (example here).
Unfortunately that was done by the program (the 'modern' internet explorer in that case), which doesn't exist in Windows 10. Edge is still very very young and has a huge list of planned updates to add all kinds of functions over the next few months, but I
can't say this is going to be one of them.

Would you care to head over to the User Voice page for the Edge browser at this link, and vote for this idea? So far there's 27 votes on it, and I just added my vote to it.

Vote for the idea "Option to Rename Pinned Sites" on Microsoft Edge User Voice
