    Is there way to restore and properly sort my files without any association with onedrive?


    When I set up my PC, I initially synced necessary content with OneDrive and then unlinked my PC to keep things independent.However, FL Studio flagged that its directory was set to C:\Users\user\OneDrive\Documents\Image-Line\, which it warned could cause issues. I navigated to that location and moved everything into the local Documents folder. But FL Studio still recognized the official Documents folder as being tied to OneDrive.I tried logging into OneDrive to adjust the path, but it automatically synced my entire Documents and Desktop folders. Frustrated, I unlinked my PC again, which resul

    Restore Default File Type Associations in Windows 10  


    Not sure why the suggested that there either since .zip is not listed by default. The easiest way is to use the "Open with" context menu to change the association for .zip.

    Hello CsIP,

    You can still export or import a user account's custom file association using the
    Registry Editor if the user account doesn't have administrative permission.

    1. Click the Start button, type regedit, and then hit
      Enter.
    2. Navigate to the path below.
      • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts
    3. Right-click the FileExts key and select Export.
    4. Select the save location and enter the desired name for the Registration File (.reg).
    5. Click Save to complete.

    • To import the file association, right-click the .reg file, select
      Merge, and then choose Yes to complete the process.

    Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these

    Links/associations not working


    So, does no-one have suggestions or a solution to my problem?
    The problem occurs when I double-click on a folder or link: 'This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel'.
    I can only open them by right-clicking on the item and select 'Open' which is third in the list. Above that is 'Search' and on the top is 'cmd' (where 'Open would normally appear).
    I've scoured the Net and tried several ways to cure this (including 'Default File Type Associations - Restore in Windows 10') but to no avail.
    Any suggestions most welcome.
