  1. Is this a windows bug or it might be my laptop?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but idk where to ask

I got two new laptops today for me and my sister and i had the option to pick if i want the window installed or not. I’m not really the most tech savvy person so I obviously picked yes and they decided to install windows 10

I had my old laptop with windows 10 and it worked pretty fine and i was already familiar with it so I didn’t really mind. I got the laptops, super happy, i try to log into my microsoft account. First laptop, my sister wants to make a new microsoft account. Gets through everything and then she gets the “set up a pin to log into your laptop”. But she got busy with other things so she closed the laptop (just the screen, not the whole laptop). 5 mins later she opens the laptop and it says (not exactly word with word) “Use the PIN to log in” but theres no box to type the Pin? And she didn’t even got the chance to set up one?? (We know 100% no one went on her laptop, we were both in the room and it was just us)

Whatever, it happens. Probably just a bug. Or idk, maybe she pressed the wrong thing. We re going to call the support from the website we bought the laptop tomorrow.

I try to set up my microsoft account this time on the other laptop and i have already a microsoft account so i just log in. Instantly, they force me to set up a PIN. Kinda scared, i set up my PIN and it works good. I use the laptop for like 10 mins and the PIN works fine. But i don’t like having a password on my laptop. I use it 90% of the time inside my house. No need for a password.

I go and try to delete the PIN thingy and it worked. I close the laptop, i open it, it asks for my microsoft password. Bruh, I thought i deleted the option of using a password. I don’t want to use a password, please, microsoft, leave me alone. Alright, fine, i use the password. Whatever.

Then i see “Set up a PIN because it’s easier bla bla bla” are u kidding me. No skipping option. It was an entire blue screen so the only option was “okay”. Damn, they really want me to use a password.

I press “okay” because i really have no options and then i see “Just wait a moment..”

And let me tell you, this moment is realllllly long. I’m waiting for the past hour, nothing is changing. So i press long the power button to hard shut down the laptop. I open it again and i type the password and again, they ask me to set up a PIN password and the only choice is “okay” and then, again, the “just wait a moment…” screen.

I don’t understand how is possible for this stupid PIN to get buggy on two laptops. Both laptops are brand new, the same brand (lenovo) and they have pretty good specs?? I mean, im not an expert and idk abt processor and other things, but 16 GB ram and 512 gb sounds not bad to me. It was recommended to me as a good laptop for uni

I wonder if it might be a laptop problem. Because if it is one, I bought it today so i still have time to return it. But if it’s just a windows problem, I’m going to ask them to install another one (because tbh i kinda like this laptop already. It’s very cute and it seems perfect for me to use at uni)

  2. Taskbar bug: switching to another window -will not appear at the front

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

    1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
    2. Select or click Ease of Access.
    3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
    4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
    5. Check if issue is resolved.
    Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
    2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
    3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
    4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
    5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.
