  3. How Do I Downgrade from Windows 10?

This did not help me at all, It said It wasn't able to go back to the previous build and recommended that I reset my PC. I chose to do so and "Keep My Files" and it didn't. It downloaded Windows 10 again and I HAVE LOST MOST OF MY FILES that I probably
    won't be able to get...

    Hello Raury,

Looks like some sort of Adware. You select "Backup Now"and it take you to a website to scan your computer then tell you to purchase their software if you want to remove what it finds. You could try clicking on the "Backup Now" button to see where it takes you. If it ends up being Adware, I'd remove it with a couple of good Malware cleaning programs. I'd run the cleaners in "Safe Mode" to remove this popup in case there is a service or startup program which starts with this program when you startup your computer. You can try r/clicking on the popup to see if there is a menu. If so, select its file location to see where and what it is.

    Lets us know what happens.

    Hope this helps,
    John

Not a part of Windows, be careful as many ransomware starts like that.

  6. Nope, because Windows will never give you that notification whether you have a backup or not.

  7. Hi:

Agree with the others: this is NOT legit.

I do not suggest clicking the "backup now" button or even the "X" to close the popup.
It might be safer to open Windows Task Manager and terminate the process from there.

Having said that, it's probably "too late" in that you do have at least "adware" or "junkware", if not bonafide malware, on the system.
As such, I agree with scanning the system.
There are a number of excellent tools that are relatively safe for "DIY" use.
Complete detection and removal, however, often requires running multiple tools in the correct sequence, and custom scripts written by a trained malware expert.

You might want to consider heading over to one of several, specialized, reputable computer disinfection fora for a bit of free, expert help.

Also be aware that some fake pop ups claim you have a virus & it needs to cleaned immediately (by clicking on the button). Some of these look almost exactly like a legitimate windows Defender screen. They go the great lengths to make them look convincing/genuine.

Since it appears you may have adware, suggest you run AdwCleaner, which is good at ferreting out that kind of malware.

    AdwCleaner Download

Here's one example of a program trying to impersonate a legitimate MS program. Looks pretty convincing, doesn't it?

Definitely not legit! Have you downloaded some freeware bundle or something of the sort?

  11. Yep! A textbook case of Social Engineering often used by rogue security products.
They are designed -- often quite realistically -- to trick the user.
