Windows 10: Is ver 2004 Install/Repair USB Media free of Access Denied bug?

In repairing installations that fail normal boot all of us sometimes resort to USB Media built via Windows Media builder utility. But using anything since ver 1703 can/does trigger an access denied error when tryin to repair boot of the system drive.

my question is if this is fixed for USB Media having v2004 ?

The only option I can think of at the moment is to perform a repair install using the version 2004 ISO, or USB boot media.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

In essence run set up again via File Explorer to reinstall version 2004.

If this doesn't work then I would suggest using the Feedback Hub to record the problem to the development team.

Otherwise there is the option to install version 1909 using an ISO image from TechNet

TechBench by WZT (v4.1.1) to see if the fault lies with version 2004. You will need to create your own boot USB media for 1909 from the ISO. You can change your
2004 boot media to 1909 by using File Explorer and deleting all files from the USB flash drive, mount the 1909 ISO then copy the contents of the ISO to the USB media.

 

Printer fails to install driver (access denied) in Windows 10 ver. 1607

I have a Canon Pixma iP6000D printer that has worked fine on my Windows 10 machines since Windows 10 came out. I just tried to access it from my Surface Pro 4 for the first time since updating to build 1607 (Anniversary), and it won't load the driver for
the printer. Device Manager has it listed under "Other devices" and when I try to update the driver from there (either search Windows update, or install the driver already on my machine) I get an "Access Denied" error. When I run Windows Update both through
Settings and the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit, it gets through downloading the driver for the printer, but then gives me an "Access Denied" error.

Originally I was also having this problem on my Thinkpad running Insider Builds, but since updating it to build 14915 last night, the printer works fine again.

Any suggestions? Is this a known issue with ver. 1607 build 14393.105 that I can expect to be fixed in an upcoming patch? Is there something else I can try?

 

USB Access is denied

Thank you, I've tried the steps, now I've got it working for the first 1 minute after the boot-up and after the minute it goes back to access denied error. When I tried to check for the security tab on the properties of the USB when connected it didn't
have the security tab and instead it had 'ReadyBoost'. Can this be the problem?
