Windows 10: is windows 10 a good choice for this pc?

Intel Celeron J1900 Quad Core 2.42Ghz
Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail)
4GB DDR3 system memory
500GB HDD

Current OS = Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Should I stick with what I got or go for it?

I think there's some confusion here. You may be able to download the free nokia navigation app, but there is no GPS unit in the E63. Therefore it can not give you directions as you go along, if it does even work.



Actually, I believe that dell sales are pretty commonly occurring still. They recently had a sale on the E72 I think. I linked you to that page to show you that they do happen regularly. It is not just a christmas thing.



Anyway, I hope you find what you want. Phones the size of the N800 aren't too common.

Thanks again, Mike. E63 can use the free navigation recently offered by Nokia. All I need is download it. Free voice navigation really pushed me to stick with Nokia.



Actually YouTube on N800 works flawlessly......I'm sure I don't have the latest firmware though (been a while). Browsing is darn near perfect with images turned off, thanks to Maemo+Mozilla. I hardly watch YouTube videos but listen to lectures and archived
radio shows/interviews, so the video quality is no issue. I can just start a very long playlist and let it run for 4+ hours without any problem. Then charge the battery, clear cache, and repeat. I should just get a desktop charger to keep going, except
I don't want to have to carry a phone along with N800 all the time.



I'm just hoping the new phone somewhat replaces N800, or use N800 until the battery runs out then switch to the phone while I work around the house or do yardwork . N800 has been a perfect companion for me; it's just lacking the phone (and of course the
brain power which I can live with). I'd get N900 if the budget is no issue, but downsizing the screen size for that kind of money makes it hard since I also read a lot of websites and PDF files in bed, which I switched to a netbook from N800 to go a bit easier
on my eyes. I haul around my 9" netbook to "listen to" a long Google video (60+ min) that N800 cannot handle. I'd rather have 5800 AND another junk netbook for the price of N900.



I'm kinda bummed that I missed all the Dell sales. My husband would have gotten E63 since he does more texting than I do and doesn't care for the touchscreen. E63 for him (definitely not in a hurry, so he can wait for a super deal) and 5800 for me really
sounds like a plan. I don't want to wait for the next "gift day" for crazy prices, which I assume would be the Mother's Day, so I'll probably go ahead and find 5800 somewhere in a couple of weeks.

Higher specs than me in every regard so it should work fine. As brummyfan says give it a go.

 

My computer came with windows 8.1 Pro x64 but downgraded to windows 7 ultimate x64 due to compatibility issues.

Edit: just noticed there was an expiration date on the preview so i have a big urge to not want to upgrade.

 

I have Win10 TP on a Dell Inspiron 530S [SFF/Small Form Factor] computer with an Intel 2.20GHz that originally came with Vista, seems to be okay on 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD. I have only one small issue and it most likely is because the computer has an Add-in DVI Video card and Win10 is also picking up the built-in VGA adapter as an Unknown device. It's not a problem as the built-in is not usable. [I saved the computer from going to the recycler.]

 

All Microsoft beta's have expirations. If this is a problem for you, then I would suggest forgetting about ever installing and using any beta Microsoft software. Ever.

 

That's routine for Microsoft. They'll becoming out with a new version (with a new expiration date) long before this one expires.

 

If 7 was any indicator they'll probably release two betas and a rc.
