Windows 10: Is windows 10 designed to rejact all old software?

Will any games or software older than windows 10 ever work on windows 10? I can't even install old games, let alone have them crash on me. Some of them aren't more than 10 years old. While trying to load an old video game, I get an error message saying something else is being loaded and to try after that's finished. nothing else is being loaded. I'm sure this question has been asked a million times. Has anyone ever gotten a useful answer?

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
