Windows 10: Is Windows 10 not compatible with Toshiba Satellite L755? Or, does anyone know if the issue...

Will Win 10 upgrade work with a Toshiba Satellite L755? I'm way late with this, & may have to shell out for a new laptop. My L755 will not get on the internet with Win 7. Tried every poss solution. Nothing. Thanks for any help.

OK, so it's not browser-specific, but it seems to happen only when you are downloading. That suggests it's related to your Wi-Fi driver, as it was for this thread....

According to Toshiba support you may have either Realtec or Atheros wireless. Which do you have? The latest drivers they list for your model are Win 8.1 for both types. If you put your serial number in here it should tell you the specific type appropriate for your machine.

You may be able to use the Win 8.1 drivers.

You may have had had a driver update recently, it may be that rolling back to the previous driver will help.

My Toshiba L750-16L has Atheros Wi-Fi and works perfectly with the Microsoft-supplied driver.

How did you try to uninstall the wired network? I have done just that on my own Toshiba L750 and (as I'm posting from it now) you can see I survived to the the tale. This is what I did....

Go into Device Manager and click on Network adapters to expand the list. For all entries under Network Adapters, right-click on each and select 'Uninstall'. Then click 'Action > Scan for hardware' changes and Window should load all the correct drivers.


Here I am with no network adapters....





...and after scanning for new hardware they are all back and functioning, Ethernet and WiFi (I tested both).

 

Driver issues with Conexant sound (Toshiba L755)

I have a Toshiba L755-1J5 laptop.

The sound cuts off after playing for several seconds or minutes. I'm not alone in having this problem, several people on various Toshiba forums have also had this or similar issues.

To resolve the issue temporarily, I have to disable and re-enable the driver in the Device Manager. It's become tiresome.

Toshiba do not offer Windows 10 drivers for this model.

I have tried the following three drivers:

• Microsoft High Definition Audio (10.0.10586.0) driver
• Conexant Audio Driver (8.54.44.0) - Conexant Audio Driver
• Conexant Audio Driver (8.64.39.50) - Conexant Audio Driver
  

And have performed a System 'reset' which took several hours, but the issue remained.
