Windows 10: Is Windows changing more than just itself?

I have recently noticed some unsettling changes to my Win 10 desktop and programs that seem to occur after Windows performs an update. For one thing, Windows arbitrarily changed the background on my desktop. Admittedly this wasn't a big deal, and I fixed it easily. A more disturbing and troublesome change was to a music editing program I use Audacity. I left a file open in this program, went to bed, and when I checked the machine the next morning the file had closed and a new version of the program was installed. I have deliberately avoided updating Audacity because I prefer the older v

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
