Windows 10: Is Windows Store available as a standalone program?

I have a significant problem with the Windows Store: It doesn't work! It's impossible to download anything that uses the store or update anything that was previously downloaded in the store without updating windows, but I had to outright destroy my computer's ability to ever be updated in order to stop the resulting interruptions. I don't need to go into detail on what is involved in that, but suffice to say it is permanent. I typically use a Chromebook with remote access to my Windows 10 PC when I am on the go so that I have the benefit of high power and portability when developing applicatio

Microsoft signals end of Paint program

Microsoft has confirmed that it will continue to offer its graphics program Paint.

In a recent update, it had listed Paint as a feature that would be either removed or no longer developed.

Paint, renowned for its simplicity, has been part of the Windows operating system since its launch in 1985.

Microsoft suggested it would not remain on Windows 10 by default but did say it would be available for free on the Windows Store.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Fedora, Ubuntu, and SuSE Linux Available from Windows Store

It seems people here missed the fact that WSL with Ubuntu has been available for almost a year now and are surprised, when SUSE and Fedore have been added to the list.
Only difference there is that Ubuntu will install directly from the Store, I assume, without the need to turn on dev mode, add Windows feature and so on.
