Windows 10: Is your windows 10 slow to wake?

Hey guys,

1st, I'm running a dual boot system with both OS installed on my system drive (SSD).

I have hibernation disabled on both OS and I wake my PC with a key combo. (PS2 Keyboard)

When I wake Windows 7 I hit the key combo and immediately type in my password and hit enter before the monitor even wakes up. By the time the monitors come on Windows 7 is already fully awake and 100% responsive to input.

When I wake Windows 10 ......... I have to wait for the monitors to come on, then wait several seconds for something to come up on the main monitor. Some times it's the lock screen with the clock and weather, sometimes only with the clock. Sometimes it skips the lock screen and starts with the login screen. Sometimes it's a black screen that I click on and then I get the login screen. It never fails to wake, it's just slower then I'd like. This whole deal takes nearly 10 seconds which is an eternity to someone used to the PC waking faster then I can type in my password.

I'm just wondering if this is normal for windows 10.

^ Nope. Mine is what you describe when you're in Windows 7

 

Turn off Fast Boot in the Bios, see if makes a difference.

 

Fast boot was already off.

I turned off "show wallpaper on lock screen" and turned off the one app I had set to show "quick info" (Weather). Then I disabled the lock screen completely.

It comes up much faster now but still a few ticks slower then 7.

 

Mine is virtually instantaneous (ssd).

 

Do you have HDDs in your system other than your boot SSD? In my case i think it's because the computer has to wait for the hard drives to spin up. But i'm not sure why that wouldnt affect Windows 7.

I remember i disconencted my hard drives once and the sleep-to-wake was instant
