Windows 10: iSCSI drive sudden performance loss after awaken from sleep or idle for too long.

I need help with the iSCSI drive, I've recently built a home lab PC with proxmox as bare metal and truenas scale as my storage solution. I've created the iSCSI drive and used the iSCSI initiator to connect to it, the performance has been great but the issue is that when the drive is idle or I put the PC to sleep and wake it up again I get a fraction of the performance. I have to restart my PC to regain the performance again, I've already tried restarting the VM and the home lab and it does not fix the performance loss issue. I've tried to ask on the Truenas forums and proxmox forums but I can'

Ok, I will try this but it seems just like another work-around to the root issue to me because you are asking me to never allow the hard drives to power down which is undesirable.

If I were to design this backup process it would be designed to either awaken the PC (and backup drive) at the scheduled backup time, perform the backup and then allow the PC to resume its original low power (sleep) state upon completion of the backup process.
Or alternatively, wait until the user (or some other event) has awakened the PC and then perform the scheduled backup at first opportunity (I.e. the first time the PC has been idle for more than a certain time period for example).

I will try your suggestions and let you know if a follow-up post.

Password screen not appearing when pc awakening from sleep state

The password log-in screen doesn't appear when it awakens from sleep. Or it's intermittent, sometimes appearing but most of the time not. Windows 10, 8-year-old Thinkpad that otherwise works fine. Even the hard drive automatic lock after the pc is turned
off has worked flawlessly in awakening. The password log-in screen does work OK when the pc awakens from the power being turned off however. Any suggestions? Thanks to all.
