Windows 10: Issue connecting using remote desktop: Unknown user name or bad password

I recently got a 3rd hp laptop since I needed more than 16GB of memory. I am trying to connect to this laptop from the other laptops but when I enter my credentials it is failing and the event viewer shows the reason to be "Unknown user name or bad password". Looking up this information I see one reason was that my credentials were not held locally since I always connected using windows hello so I used the credential manager to add them but it still did not help any suggestions on the best way to debug this would be appreciated

Okay guys need some help here before going crazy...
I am trying to setup a remote desktop connection and see exactly what the logged on user is looking at with out going through Windows Remote Desktop.

Since its local network I don't have any password or want to setup a password.

Any suggestions are appreciated

 

Remote Desktop Connection without password


Remote Desktop Connection is not designed to work without passwords. Auto logon is another issue, a Windows PC with a single user account with no password logs the user automatically in. This creates issues with RDC.

I recommend creating a password for the user account on remote host used for remote connections.

When you enabled RDC on the W7 PC, did you add the W7 user account you intend to use to the list of users allowed remote access to the W7 PC? (required if the user isn't an administrator)

Also, make sure you didn't select 'Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication', that won't work on a home network.
