Windows 10: Issue from Windows Insider Beta Update 0x80248014

0x80248014So first thing was I'm trying Beta Insider 22621.875 and 22623.875, and I want to go back in Release 22621.755 and had No Problem.But I did uninstall the 2 Updates from Beta just to return in Release, but now returning back to Beta, now the problem persist.I tried:1. Resetting the "SoftwareDistribution" and "CatRoot2" folders.2. Troubleshooting the Windows Update but no effect at all Which shows Yellow with Exclamation Point, prolly doesn't fixed3. Using SFC AND DISM.4. Reassign back which leaves and joined back.5. Instead getting from 22621

Windows Update Issue 0x80248014 - Pro Insider Preview build 10074

My install of the Window 10 insider preview has been stuck on build 10074 and unable to update for some time. As I use Linux the majority of the time I have put off sorting this out but I am now getting warnings that if I don't update Windows will reboot
every 2 hours so I have spent the last couple of days trying to get windows update to work.

At the start of trying to fix windows update the error code was 0x80240008 but after trying various fixes this has changed to 0x80248014.

Some of the things I have tried:

• PC Refresh - removed all programs while keeping my personal files. My start menu stopped working after this and this may have been what changed the Windows Update error code (I tried most of the things listed below both before and after the refresh)
  
• Renaming c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution
• Restarting Cryptographic Services, Windows Update, BITS in services.msc
• Windows Update Diagnostic from http://download.microsoft.com/downl...-1BE17BF70B21/WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab
  
  This fails with "service registration is missing or corrupt - not fixed"
  
• sfc.exe /scannow completes and does not find any integrity violations
• Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
  
  completes with "The component store is repairable. The operation completed successfully."
  
  as does Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
• dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  
  fails with "Error: 0x800f081f The source files could not be found."

I haven't been able to find much reference to the 0x80248014 error code other than some old questions related to Security Essentials on XP that don't seem to be related to my update issue.

 

Windows insider program update issue

well , in the off chance that anyone was curious as to this issue, i fixed it without the above steps....i retried it today, but remembered that i have My RAM overclocked from 1333mhz, to 1866mhz.

I dropped it back down to its stock speeds, and it breezed right though the update with no issues what so ever. problem solved.
