Windows 10: Issue Highlighting and copy Text selection with mouse

I am running Windows 64 bit on a Lenova Yoga 3. Since the upgrade, I cannot select text. It will highlight, but it won't hold. I am using right click on my mouse. I am also having problems selecting text boxes, likes, etc. Having zero computer skills, it is very frustrating. Do I do nothing, or go poking around and screw up something else?


What is wrong with text select/copy selection. In is in all programs.

Text highlight not sticking - Post Anniversary Update Issue


Immediately following the Anniversary Update, I have been experiencing issues with text highlighting.

Left click text highlighting rarely 'sticks', or stays highlighted after releasing the left mouse button.

Right click text highlighting doesn't highlight text at all.

I have tried using another mouse (different manufacturer) - same issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or has anyone experienced this issue?

P.s. I've tried some basic troubleshooting such as searching for updated drivers, restarting system, using another mouse (as mentioned)

With the Mouse? Yes. You put your mouse at the beginning of the text you wish to copy...hold down the left mouse button until you have all text highlighted

RIGHT click anywhere in the blue highlighted area select copy then move to anywhere you want text right click again and select paste or just type crtl + v

Mouse Selection Behavior

Questions: When you copy text, is your cursor in the highlighted area?

When you paste text, is it not appearing in the other tab area?

If the cursor is not in the highlighted area when you copy, it will resort to non-highlighted text.

Right click on Start > Select Device Manager

Right click on Mouse Driver > Select Uninstall

Reboot the computer and Windows will reload the driver.

If the issue persists, run Windows Update > Scan for Updates

You might also check the computer manufacturer's site for an updated driver.
