Windows 10: Issue Installing KB5029921 – Error Code -2145124329 on Windows 11 23H2 22631.4751.

Hi everyone,While trying to update one of my systems, I ran into this issue:Error Code: -2145124329 – The update is not applicable to your computer.This happened with KB5029921. I might be missing something, but I can't figure out why the update isn't applicable.I checked the Update Catalog, and even though this KB is relatively old, it hasn't been superseded by any other update. So, as far as I understand, I should still be able to install it—right?Here are the KBs currently installed on the system retrieved using Get-HotFix:KB5049624KB5027397KB5050021KB5050113I also checked the .NET Framew

Cannot install Windows 11 23H2

The build number 22631.2506 implies the device has been upgraded to 23H2 already.

Here are the version/build numbers for Windows 11.

• 22000.xxx is 21H2
  
• 22621.xxx is 22H2
  
• 22631.xxx is 23H2
  

Your system is fully up-to-date. What else you're looking for?

Windows 11 Installation Error Error Code: 0xC1900101 0x4001

Hi MJBurns,

The setup platform crashed with error code 0xc0000005. This is a known issue with the recent Windows 11 setup modules.

Many users face this issue, and buggy acmigration.dll is to blame. Replacing acmigration.dll with a much older version seems to have helped some users.

SOLUTION/WORKAROUND

Step 1: You can use this batch script (GitHub) to download the Windows 21H2 version of the ISO.

Step 2: Download the Windows 11 23H2 ISO from Download Windows 11

After downloading the two ISOs, do one of the following:

Option 1: Run setup.exe from the 21H2 ISO and point to the 23H2 WIM

Mount the 21H2 ISO and the 23H2 ISOs -- let's say E:\ and F:\, respectively.

Run Setup.exe from the 21H2 ISO, but mention the "/InstallFrom" argument and point it to the 23H2 install.wim.

From admin Command Prompt:

• E:\setup.exe /installfrom "F:\sources\install.wim"
  

(or)

Option 2: First, upgrade to 21H2. And then upgrade to 23H2.

Run E:\Setup.exe and install the 21H2 version.

Once done, upgrade to 23H2 using the 23H2 ISO.

Window 11 23H2 failed to upgrade with 0x800f081f

Choose reinstall (keeping the settings and apps option) with the Windows 11 23H2 iso file. That was how I fixed the issue. Make sure your Windows beta version is lower than 22631, otherwise, it will not work, you will have to do a clean install
