Windows 10: Issue on MacOS 15 with Windows App RDP connection

We have found an issue with failing RDP connections from the Windows App on MacOS 15 computers.This issue occurs on multiple MacOS 15 devices of various models.When the computer boots, in the System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, for the Windows App, Local Network is toggled ON. However, when attempting to RDP to a Windows device from the Windows App, the connection fails. The only solution we've found is to return to the Local Network settings and toggle the Windows App OFF then back ON. This then allows successful RDP sessions.We have submitted a report of this issu

Printing Issues MacOS > RDP > Windows 10

I mean RDP as Remote Desktop app on the MacOS store. My issue is solely isolated in Microsoft’s official Remote Desktop app for MacOS.

As different printer makes no difference, different Remote Desktop version makes no difference. Just recently Microsoft released a beta to solve MacOS Sonoma issues with redirecting printers. I have access to the printers just wrong formats in the output, no matter my input.

If there is a specific forum for Microsoft app support in Mac systems I will post this there. As I’m convinced by the recent update/issue history concerning Microsoft Remote Desktop and Mac devices that the issue has to do with how MacOs and Remote Desktop operate.

 

macOS RDP client does not support interactive login

In reference to the macOS Windows RDP client, appending this line to a .rdp file: enablecredsspsupport:i:0

does not bring the expected interactive login screen as for the Windows native RDP client, which is very limiting for our application case.

Is this inconsistent support of the RDP clients known and is there a workaround for the macOS (and Linux) client?

This issue only exists when I use my MacBook Air - Remoting into a windows 10 desktop.

I will print something FROM the windows desktop onto a local printer where the Mac is. I’m trying to print forms in landscape orientation but what I get is basically landscaped content on a portrait paper. In print preview it is formatted correctly.

I have googled everything to where the recent beta for RDP resolves Sonoma OS issues with redirected printers. Nothing fixes this issue. It’s too specific of an issue.

I’ve tried two different LOCAL printers. I’ve tried Beta, current, and old RDP versions on my MacBook Air.

Anything I print locally (No remote) I get what I need. If I print locally off the Windows desktop , I get what I need. My issue is solely isolated within Remote Desktop FOR MacOS.

As using a surface instead of a Mac while still remoting to a windows desktop gives me the correct print layout.

TL&DR Landscape orientation printouts don’t format correctly while printing documents from a windows desktop I’m remoted into with RDP on a MacBook Air.
