Windows 10: Issue with 8ch LC-A_AAC audio disabled in Films&TV app, plays fine in VLC

I have several mkv videos with audio encoding AAC-LC, 8Chanel streams. None of the audio works in Films and TV and shows as disabled.

Playing the video files in VLC, there are no issues.. and audio plays fine.

Am I missing something here?

This would only help if there was a global audio problem. There is not. The audio problem is only with certain movies when played back in the Films & TV app. In other media players (such as VLC) the audio plays fine. This is a problem with app quality,
not the end user's system.

Hi Bhavye, same to me.

Have Bose Mini soundbar with Bluetooth connected. The sound work well with VLC Videoplayern and iTunes and Windows Sound. But not with the Programm "Filme & Fernsehsendungen" (engl. Movies and TV) (task: Video.UI.exe).

In the Audio-Mixer-Applications I see Firefox, Systemsounds, iTunes - but no "Movies and TV". The Videofile is correct and will work with VLC (audio and video), but in the Windows 10 application only the video - without audio.

The Troubleshooting did not help. No problems found.

Some video files work. Some not. Can DTS be a problem?

Any suggestions?

Film and TV App & Groove Music poor audio output.

Hi All

I've noticed something strange since upgrading to windows 10.

The Film and TV app , and Groove music app have poor audio outputs. This I can verify as playing the same media through WMP or VLC, for example, sounds like it normally should through a good pair of headphones I have.

Film and TV seem to be lacking tremendous amounts of bass and Groove has a slight distortion through it from low volumes to max.

And yes drivers and all have been updated.

Has anyone else had this issue?
