Windows 10: Issue with AUX on my Dell notebook

    Issue with AUX on my Dell notebook


    My laptop only recognizes my headphones through AUX when they are plugged in before the device starts. Therefore they are not detected when I plug them in after the device started.

    Has anybode else ran into this issue and / or knows how to fix it?

    Cortana Notebook

    In order to enable the Notebook icon in Cortana, I suggest you to check if you have enabled Cortana.

    To enable Cortana, please follow the steps below:

    • Go to Cortana.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Turn on “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts”.

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    Hi Tom,

    In order for us to identify what triggers your laptop's issue when an aux cable is connected, we would like to gather more information:

    • Have you tried connecting the aux cable and the headset to a different computer?
    • Have you also tried connecting a different aux cable and headset to your laptop?
    • Does the brief sound from the laptop only play upon inserting the aux cable and headset?
