  1. Issue with Bluetooth Speakers Connected but not listed in sound devices on Windows 11

When attempting to connect my Vizio Bluetooth speaker to my computer, the pairing process is successful. However, despite being paired, the audio continues to play through the computer's built-in speakers instead of the connected Bluetooth speakers. Notably, the Bluetooth speakers do not appear in the mixer settings, preventing me from redirecting the audio output.Observations:In Settings -> Bluetooth & devices -> Devices -> Audio, both Dell U2723QE and VIZIO SB3651 are listed. In Settings -> System -> Sound -> All Sound devices -> Output devices, only Dell U2723QE is l

  2. Bluetooth Speaker connected but not listed as Sound Output Device

    Hi,

So as the title suggests I have a Gravastar Mars Pro speaker which I want to use with my Windows 11 Pc. The speakers had originally worked for me on Windows 10, However, since updating to Windows 11, whenever I go to use them they do not appear as a sound output device, even when they are connected to Bluetooth.

    I have tried:

    - Using the Gravastar speaker on my iPhone and Macbook Pro, which works just fine

    - Other Bluetooth speakers (Oontz Angle 3 DS98) and they connect and play sound just fine.

    - Updating my Bluetooth & Audio drivers.

    - Using the "playing audio" Troubleshooter and selecting the Gravastar speaker, in which it states " This device does not appear to be plugged in"

    - Using the "Bluetooth" Troubleshooter which lists "Check Bluetooth Radio Status - Fixed" every time I run this.

    - Selecting the "More Sound Settings" which I can see the speaker listed, however, it appears as "disconnected" and selecting "connect" does nothing.

I currently have Bluetooth through my motherboard (B660 Aorus Master (Rev. 1. x)).

I'm not sure what to even try anymore and am getting very close to wiping the entire computer and seeing if that will solve the issue.

    Thank you

  3. Bluetooth Speaker connected but not listed as Sound Output Device

    Hi @Mosken_L - MSFT

Thank you for you response. I tried each of the steps you suggested, however, none of them appear to have worked for me:

    • When I uninstall the device and reboot, the speakers reappear under the device manager as if I never uninstalled them.
    • Power Saving Mode is not listed as an option when I try to open the device properties under device manager. For reference: None of my devices are listed under "Sound, video and game controllers".
    • Under the "Recording Tab" the "Set as default device" button is greyed out and unclickable.

Note: As mentioned before, the device is listed here but the "connect" button does not work when I click it.
    • I tried the "Clean Boot", however, I, unfortunately, had the same results.
    UPDATE:

I finally had enough and decided to reset my computer. On my first attempt, Windows 11 reinstalled (as it should), however, my Bluetooth and windows drivers remained on the Pc. I was immediately reconnected to the internet, which I wasn't expecting since I initially had to download my drivers from an external Hard drive. Now even with the Pc reset my speakers could not be used for sound.

I then decided to give it 1 final attempt to download an older version of Windows that I knew worked with the speakers. So while performing another system reset I went into Bios and had it boot using a USB Stick that I downloaded Windows 10 onto. I did initially have an issue installing Windows 10, until I realized I needed to delete all the existing partitions. Once reverted back to Windows 10 I was able to download the required Drivers and the speakers began working again.

I am thinking somewhere along the line I picked up a driver that was not compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 (possibly through Avast Driver Updater) that was interfering with my speaker connection. I may try updating to windows 11 once again in order to see if the issue reoccurs without an automatic Driver updater.

TLDR: Completely wiped my hard drive, reinstalled Windows 10 from USB Stick, and am now able to use my speakers again.

    Bluetooth Speaker No sound Issues

Since you seem to be able to connect to the speaker via bluetooth, the next thing I would check is what Audio Playback device is set as the default. To check this, navigate to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound and you will see a box that looks like this:

Issue with Bluetooth Speakers Connected but not listed in sound devices on Windows 11 l5U66.png

You should see the connected bluetooth speaker listed on the playback device list. Right click on the device and select "Set as default device". You can also right click the device and select "test" to send a test chime to the speaker. If you right click the device and select "Properties", there may be a tab for "Levels" which allows you to set the volume output from the computer (not sure whether bluetooth devices have this option). Lastly, ensure the volume on the speaker itself is loud enough to hear.
