Windows 10: Issue with factory resetting Windows 10

I have an issue with resetting my computer.

Last night, I went into the update menu, and did a factory reset, that would remove all of my files, as

I am selling it. I started the reset and left the computer there. When I checked on the computer again, it would show the boot screen for a few seconds, then the boot screen again saying welcome, then it would flash a installing windows screen for one second before resetting back to the boot screen. It keeps repeating that process over and over. Is there a way to fix it?


The computer in question is a Acer Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop. Not sure what version of Windows 10 its using.

• When you say that "reset my computer back to factory settings", are you referring that you have tried to perform rolling back to previous Operating System or performed Reset of Windows 10?

Factory Reset

Hi Cameron,

Since you did a factory reset on your computer, possibly the outdated network adapter driver causes the connection issue. Just for clarification, did you install the updated network drivers? If not, we suggest that you update the Network adapter driver.

• Go to Device Manager, then click Network adapters and select the network adapter name.
• Press and hold (or right-click) the network adapter, and then select
  Update Driver Software > Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the steps, then select
  Close.
• After installing the updated driver, restart the computer.

If Windows can’t find a new driver for your network adapter, visit the PC manufacturer’s website and download the latest network adapter driver from there.
