Windows 10: Issue with installing VMware Workstation Pro for Windows

I am trying to install app name VMware workstation pro from edge but when i am running the setup,it shows me"an error occurred while attempting to create directory: C:\Users\Public\Desktop" please help��





Hey Guys, on you windows defender settings, under "ransomware production" you might have turned on "controlled folder access" turn it off and try installing vmware

Problems Installing Windows 10 Pro in VMware Workstation 15








Hi.

I am having an issue installing Windows 10 Pro x64 in VMware Workstation Player 15. Attached are screen shots of the errors I get. My operating system is Windows 7 Pro. I've tried several ways of doing so, the final being 8135-install-windows-10-virtual-machine-vmware-player I am at a loss as what to try next. Any help is appreciated.

Installing VMWare workstation pro on Windows 10 Home Edition

Hello,

You might be experiencing this issue because the installer is not running with administrator rights. The installer might need these rights to make changes. In line with this, let's try running the installer with administrator rights. Here's how:

1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the VMWare Workstation Pro installation folder. (If you have downloaded it from the Internet, it might be located in the Downloads folder.)

2. Look for the installer executable file (ie. setup.exe) and right-click on it.

3. Choose Run As Administrator.

4. If you see a User Account Control prompt, accept it.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you reach out to VMWare for further support. Here is their official support article about this error:
Setup cannot continue. The Microsoft Runtime DLL installer failed. Regarding the Virtual box error, we also recommend that you reach out to Virtual box support.
