Windows 10: Issue with Internal/Built-In Microphone input not being detected?

I am having issues with the internal/built in microphone on a laptop not detecting any sort of input or sound. In the Sound settings, a test only results as 0% and I cannot configure it whatsover it's greyed out in the advanced settings. The audio driver is listed under AMD as just AMD audio driver.The model I am using is a Lenovo T14 Gen 3. Here are the things I have already triedisable audio enhancementsUninstalled audio drivers and reinstalledTested external mic/headset, which worksI am open to any other suggestions to get the built-in microphone working, thank you very much!

Microphone Detected but no sound input detected

- My PC has 2 3.5mm microphone jack inputs
- Upon plugging any (tested on other devices) microphones into these jacks, my pc detects that they have been plugged in

- However, when speaking, no sound input is detected

- I have tried ALL options mentioned in this thread Microphone detected but no input sound - Microsoft Community in 2018, the author of which appeared to have the same (unsolved) problem as I.
- Sound input is detected fine from USB microphones

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

Method 1: I suggest you to set microphone as default device and check.

• 
  Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices"
  
• 
  Right click on the blank space in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
  
• 
  Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
  
• 
  Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
  
• 
  Click Apply and OK.
  

Step 2: Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.

  Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled. Follow the steps given to check that:
  
• 
  Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.
  
• 
  Now, Right Click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.
  
• 
  Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.
  

And also update the audio drivers from the manufacturer web site and install.

Laptop switching from headset to built-in microphone on its own.

I did disable the built-in microphone a few times during my initial troubleshooting. But that doesn't force the headset to pick up the sound input function. Even after reboot, I just have no microphone
at all while sound still comes through the headset.
