  1. Issue with SSD after power flickered and caused PC to lose power momentarily

My PC lost power momentarily during a power flicker caused during a storm.Afterwards, my PC initially would not boot Windows and was stuck in a boot loop. It would either get stuck in the boot process, or could not get passed "Preparing Automatic Repair". After about and hour and a half of troubleshooting, hard resets, and waiting for things to load, while my PC was off, I unplugged my 4TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD not my boot drive and turned on my PC and everything booted up just fine. I then shut my PC down the correct way through Windows, plugged the SSD back in, and proceeded to turn my PC on

    :)

  2. power issue

    Hello,

Most of the time, this issue is caused by external devices that are possibly keeping the PC active which then results in the screen/display not turning off even after you've set the power settings. Try disconnecting any external devices, usually gaming devices,
and check if the issue persists.

We also suggest running the Power troubleshooter to automatically troubleshoot any power issue. Just follow the steps below:

    • Click on Search/Cortana, and then type Troubleshooting.
    • Click on Troubleshooting.
    • Click on System and Security.
    • Click on Power.

Let us know if that worked out for you.

    PC losing power

    Hallo,

I made a new PC with the following components:

    PSU: Seasonic G12 GM-850 850W

RAM: Corsair 32 GB DDR5-5600 Kit

SSD: SAMSUNG 980 PRO, 1 TB SSD

    Motherbord: ASUS PRIME X670-P

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X

When i bought al the components, i was waiting for the new AMD GPU Radeon 7900xtx to release.

But for a month, i installed my old GPU in the system. a nvidia rtx 2070 super.

With the nvidia GPU everything was working fine. but i just installed the AMD 7900 xtx when my problem started.

On low intensity usage, everything is fine. but when i play some high demanding games my PC can completely lose power.

Sometimes this happens instantly, sometimes it could take 10 min, sometimes an hour.

It doesn't auto restart. other devices still have power when this happens.

Pushing the power button after shut down normaly doesn't work. i have to pull out the power cable and reconnect it to power up

I checked CPU and GPU temps, everything looks fine. all fans are spinning so i don't think it is a thermal issue.

Could it be a problem with my PSU? and how could i check/fix it?

    Windows 10 power issue

    Hi Adithyaram,

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

I suggest you to follow the steps bellow and check if it helps

    Method 1: Hardware Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with power. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Power.

    Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
    • Run the Power troubleshooter

Method 2: I suggest you to update drivers and check if that helps. If that issue persist please uninstall and reinstall latest drivers available in manufacturer website. Both Display
    driver and Audio drivers.

    • Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
    • Select Display Adapter and expand the driver icon.
    • Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
    • Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help
