Windows 10: Issue with the language bar in windows

I've noticed that if I set the input language to japanese, the language bar does not appear to be aware of me pressing the alt+romaji keys on a japanese keyboard. This shortcut is for toggling direct kana input, and the language bar itself has a button to toggle this, but it does not update when I use the keyboard shortcut.Is there a way to change this, so I can use the language bar as an indicator of whether or not I have kana direct input enabled or not?

• Press Windows + X keys and select Control Panel.
• Search Language and select it.
• Left side pane select Advanced settings.
• Under Switching Input methods check mark "Use the desktop language bar when its available."
• Click Save. Check if the issue persists.

Language bar shows keyboard layout not defined in language settings

Hi John thank you for the suggestion. I followed the steps and the United States-International layout disappears from the language bar until I restart the system. It is back on the list next time I start Windows.

Is there any other configuration that could be setting this layout?

Step: Check Language Bar is Hidden.

1. Press Windows logo and I key, open Settings
2. Click on Devices
3. Select Typing
4. Select the option Advanced keyboard settings
5. Then select Language bar options
6. Check the box: Show text labels on the Language bar
7. Then select the Language Bar tab and make sure that the
   Docked in the taskbar option is checked.
8. Click on Apply and OK to exit, and check if that helps.
