Windows 10: Issue with Windows 11 permissions after doing system restore

Hello, I wanted to rollback a Windows update so I performed a system restore. Windows made a restore point of right before the update. I did the restore and it appeared to work. However after restarting my computer twice, I got a message saying that the system restore failed. On top of that, windows also says there are no audio devices installed speaker icon with an 'x' thru it in system tray. The audio troublehsooter says Windows audio service isnt running. I try to turn it on manually and it says "windows could not start the windows audio service on local computer 0x80070005 access is deni

Restore Security Permissions

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have cancelled the security permissions while setting it to folders and you are trying to restore back. We will help you.

• Which folder are you trying to set the permissions?
• What are you referring to " files is affected "?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Open the file explorer and select the destination folder
  for which you wanted to revert back the permission changes.
• Right click on the folder. Select the Previous versions
  tab.
• Select the previous version in the below list and click
  apply.
• Check if the issue persists.
