Windows 10: Issue with Windows 7 DST Update for Egypt

Issue with Windows 7 Gadgets

For some strange reason, my Windows 7 gadgets (Weather, GMail, etc) can no longer connect to the internet and update themselves. I have added both sidebar exe files (C : \Program Files and C : \Program Files x86) to the Windows Firewall Exceptions list. It is the same issue even when UAC is enabled. What could be causing this? Thanks for any help.

I also just realized that my Windows Update is not working as well, so that may be a related issue.

 

time zone issues

The build 22621.2070 supersedes March 28, 2023—KB5023778 (OS Build 22621.1485). Quality Updates are cumulative, meaning the current cumulative update contains new fixes and previous updates.

So, KB5023778 needn't be (and can't be) installed again.

One of the suggestions is to use a REG file to fix the DST. But please be sure to backup/export that registry branch beforehand.
