Subject: Windows License and Activation Issues Message: Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with my Windows activation. Here's what happened: I received a message stating that my Windows license would expire soon. I followed a tutorial on YouTube to disable and stop this message from appearing. After doing this, I updated and restarted my laptop 2-3 times, because a watermark saying "Activate Windows" started appearing. Now, certain apps like Camera and Calculator are not opening, and Windows shows as unactivated. When I try to activate it it shows error I tried troubleshoot, but it suggest

Windows 10 Activation reports your license will soon expire.

This can happen for a number of reasons:

• You copied a Windows 10 Pro off the Internet (usually a volume license - organization - key) and changed on a Windows 10 Home installation. Windows 10 Pro is not free. If this is what you did, you will need to reinstall the previous edition
  or version you were running. You inadvertently installed the wrong edition.
  • The copy of Windows 10 you download and upgrade from will correspond with the edition of Windows you have installed, if it does not, this is why you might be experiencing problems activating:

• Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Windows 8.0 Core, Windows 8.1 Core will install Windows 10 Home
  

• Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8.0 Pro, Windows 8.1 Pro will installWindows 10 Pro

If the edition of Windows 10 installed does not correspond with the edition of Windows 7 or Windows 8 you were previously running, then you need to reinstall the right edition.

Did you purchase the laptop brand new out of the box?

You might want to reinstall Windows 10 Home to resolve the problem.

Activating windows through digital license after it expires

I had the digital license of Windows 10 linked to my Microsoft account through which Windows was activated. Because of some problem I had to send my PC for repair and the motherboard was changed so Windows didn't recognize that device and it became deactivated.
The repair shop themselves entered the new product code which would expire after a year or so and it was just the day before this issue is posted that the license expired.

I am trying to switch to the digital license and have tried almost everything to do it. I am already signed in to the account the digital license was linked to. The activation troubleshooter which, according to the internet, was supposed to give an option
of hardware change doesn't give that option and provides a link which opens the
Get Help app. Microsoft support numbers doesn't list the country I live in. They removed the
Live Chat function from the Get Help app. The
Call Me Back function also doesn't have the country I live in listed there.

When I login to my Microsoft account in the web, then I can see my old PC (the PC before repair which is actually the same PC) considered as a whole different PC. So if there is a way to transfer the digital license please help me.

Win 10 activation is expiring - volume license

I was able to replicate the error using aVL install media





Then using a Win 7 Pro COA key --

-- I got the 'key is not valid" error code 0xc004f050 before internet connectivity was established




Subsequently it activated on a 2nd attempt with internet connectivity

Licence channel changed from this...




... to this.




The error message is misleading regarding the validity of the Win 7 key.
