Windows 10: Issue with Windows Biometric Framework Capture Sample for Capacitive Touch Fingerprint Sensor

I am currently working on an application that involves capturing fingerprint images using the Windows Biometric Framework Capture Sample. The application works fine with optical sensors found in laptops which require swiping the finger. However, I am encountering an issue when attempting to use the same application with capacitive touch fingerprint sensors built into laptops. Instead of obtaining a clear fingerprint image, the captured bytes seem to be encrypted or distorted in some way. I have attached an example image for reference. I have tested this on different laptops, and the issue

Egistec Touch Fingerprint Sensor Stopped Working

I'm sorry to hear that your fingerprint sensor is not working after updating to Windows 11 Home on your Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5.

Please try to disable and re-enable the fingerprint sensor and see if that helps

Press the Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.

Expand Biometric devices.

Right-click on the Egistec Touch Fingerprint sensor and select Disable device.

Wait a few seconds and then right-click again and select Enable device.

If the issue persists, please try to reinstall the driver

Press the Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.

Expand Biometric devices and locate your Egistec Touch Fingerprint sensor.

Right-click on the sensor and select Uninstall device.

Check the box for Delete the driver software for this device and click Uninstall.

Restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the generic driver.

windows hello / biometric fingerprint sensors

My Windows was not getting the first update, due to which I updated the Windows 10 Pro offline, but now in settings, Windows hello and fingerprint sensor (biometric service) is not working in the account sign
Please help me

 

Windows Biometric Framework usage

We have our fingerprint device which is working properly as USB device.

Data capturing works fine with our proprietary application.

Currently we are using custom vendor USB class for driver development.

When we plug this device, this device is listed in "Universial Serial Bus Controller" catagories in Windows Device Manager.

We want to use Windows Biometric Framework for the same device to achieve Windows Biometric login.

I understand that, we need to write WBDI compitible driver but I have query related to fingerprint device hardware.

We are targeting Windows 7 and later operating systems.

Will there be any changes required in hardware to work with WBDI driver ?
