Windows 10: Issue with Windows Colour Scheme / Themes

I'm unsure if this is a bug from a previous update but here goes.


A month or two before Christmas, I suddenly noticed that my Sticky Notes accessory App and also Windows Explorer background had changed to grey (from Yellow in the case of sticky notes and white for the explorer window).

Anyway, I've had some other PC issues so yesterday, I re-installed Win 10 Pro.


After re-installation, I found I had the same issue.

Exploring Windows Colour, I managed to turn on 1st of all high contrast, which didn't want to turn off and kept reverting several times to on, until eventually I got it off. Then I tried applying a Theme - Australia out of desperation in the hope that when the theme was removed, the menu colours would revert to normal. No such joy.

I did however, discover the light / dark check box which seemed to solve the Sticky Note and Window Explorer issue, returning them to yellow and white backgrounds respectively.

However, even though I reverted to Windows theme from Australia, I found my start Icons and other icons were fluorescent green!!!

In the end, I've resorted to manually changing my desktop background picture to one of my own and manually selecting a very dark grey from the menu colour options in the Colour Scheme Menu. The fact is though, this doesn't appear to be exactly the same as standard Windows - I remember them being black not dark grey.

No matter what I do, I can't seem to revert them.

I wondering if maybe an update has introduced a bug into this area as I believe neither high contrast or themes will be turned on and then off again very often.

One other observation, since turning High Contrast on and then off, I've found my monitor brightness to be very high. There's no brightness control showing in the Personalise menu from a right click over the windows desktop, and I've had to turn the brightness down from the Intel in built graphics control.

Does anyone know what's happening and how to revert Windows back to it's natural colour scheme / brightness etc?

I might be tempted to think this was a faulty re-installation if it were not for the fact that a few of the issues manifested themselves on the old built that was replaced.

Colour Scheme & Fonts


I see that W10 continues the "Diamond White" colour scheme of the W8 series.

Is it possible to change the default:

• Font face (without hacking the Registry)?
• Colour scheme of inactive windows?

 

5140i colour schemes

Hi,

I want to change the colour scheme on my 5140i.I go in to settings,display,colour scheme and select the colour I want but when I switch the phone off and back on again the colour has reverted back to the original.

What do I do?

I changed the colour scheme of my windows 10 desktop only to find that it had changed my laptop to the same colour scheme without me knowing it was doing so.
