Windows 10: Issue with Windows Mixed Reality and Controllers

I've searched far and wide for a solution, but have yet to find one. Hopefully someone here can help me out.



I have a Lenovo Explorer and I'm on the latest Windows 10 update.



Issues started about 2 weeks ago. First steam VR would be black and my controllers would not show up and were not responsive. I could not open up steam VR options. However, the windows button on the lenovo controllers did open up the WMR menu and I could go to my WMR home and start games that way, even if they were installed through steam.



Then last week controllers would become unresponsive midgame and I'd get a lot of stuttering in the headset. Now the controllers won't work at all or only work for 1-2mins in game and then freeze and I just walk backwards in game.



I've tried restarting PC, unpairing controllers and doing factory reset, then repairing. I've tried restarting WMR and steam VR.



Some more info: I am using a vive link to extend the set up. CPU is 6700k, GPU is GTX 1080, 32GB of RAM.



Any help on how to get controllers to not drop out or not load in at all would be greatly appreciated.

• Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
2. Click OK.
3. Were there any recent changes made prior to this issue?
4. Are you getting any specific error messages when setting up the Mixed Reality Controllers?
5. What is the make and model of your computer?

Upon researching, it was stated in this article that KB4284848 "Addresses a performance issue with Windows Mixed Reality on some laptops with hybrid graphics adapters, such as Surface Book 2".
If you're using a laptop that supports hybrid graphics adapters, then its advisable to install the said KB update.

Acer Mixed Reality left controller restart issue while playing game

We understand how disappointing it could be to face difficulties in your gaming experience and we truly appreciate for providing the details. However, we would need some more information regarding the issue.

1. Could you please let us know the make and model of the computer?
2. Which build of Windows 10 are you currently on? You can refer to
   Which Windows operating system am I running?

We would suggest you to try following the steps mentioned below and check if it resolves the issue.

1. Open File Explorer.
2. Navigate to C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\LocalLow\Hyperbolic\Magnetism\BeatSaber (if you do not find
   AppData, click on View in the menu bar and check the box behind
   Hidden).
3. You would see files by name settings.cfg and settings.cfg.bak.
4. Try deleting above mentioned files, which would reset your settings in the game completely.
5. Then check if there are any updates for the game and try updating the game.
6. Now check if the issue persists.
