Windows 10: Issues after a driver update?

About a week and a half ago I decided to update my drivers and apps after some issues with modding a game. after that my PC started crashing multiple times a day. The crashes consisted of a freezing screen with the audio looping glitch. These crashes came without warning and without BSODs, sometimes the screen went black. These crashes would occur both while streaming video youtube, hbo max, etc as well as during game play. Sometimes the PC would reboot on its own while other times I had to hold the power button Which I know isn't the best.I updated EVERY driver I could find an update for,

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
• What and all steps have you tried so far?

It could be due to incorrect settings or missing/corrupt drivers or missing updates.

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Restart the computer a few times and check for Windows Updates.

In the Search box on the taskbar, enter Windows Update, select Windows Update. On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates.

Then try to update the display drivers.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Windows update reverted display to MS Basic Display Driver

Hi,

Normally, this issue occurs when the drivers were being corrupted or updated after the recent update. Since you've already tried to install the latest driver, we suggest that you roll back to the previous driver and check if it helps to resolve the issue. To
do this, kindly follow the steps below:

• Open Device Manager.
  
• Double-click the device for which you want to roll back to the previous version of the driver, and then click
  Properties.
  
• Under the Driver tab, select Roll Back Driver.
  
• Select OK.
