  1. Issues deleting Mouse Cursor Schemes

I recently messed with Themes in the Settings application, and possibly corrupted/broken the mouse cursor schemes. I accidentally saved a random cursor scheme as "Windows Default", and began to have issues deleting this scheme as it is probably conflicting with the already-existing "Windows Default system scheme" file. Is there any way to fix this, since I am obsessed with keeping things to default? I have already reset my PC without deleting personal files, however this issue still persists. Thank you for your time.

    5. Even though I selected Yes at image 3, the scheme "Windows Default" is still here, however the Delete button is unavailable.

This keeps on happening after closing the Mouse Properties window and coming back.

    Missing mouse cursor style files

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Please reply to the following questions to get a better understanding on the issue:

    • What is the current scheme selected for the pointers?
    • What happens when you change the pointer scheme to any other scheme?

However, you can follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Type 'Control Panel' on the search bar.
    2. Select the Control Panel icon and open it.
    3. Click on Mouse.
    4. Click on the Pointer tab.
    5. Click on Use Default to reset the Pointers to Default.
    6. Click on Apply and OK.

Also, I suggest you to post a screenshot of the screen to understand the issue more clearly.

NOTE: While posting the screenshot make sure you don’t have any personal information mentioned displayed.

    Hope it helps.

    Issues deleting Mouse Cursor Schemes

    No mouse cursor

    Hi,

It is possible that the system did not recognize the mouse of your computer after it booted up. This can be the reason why you do not see the mouse cursor. Kindly perform a power cycle to refresh the power of the computer. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Shutdown the computer.
    • After shutting it down, remove the battery (if you're using a laptop) and disconnect the computer from the charger.
    • Wait for 1 minute.
    • After 1 minute, attach the battery and turn on the computer.
    • Check if you will see the mouse cursor.

Let us know how it goes.
