  1. Issues Enabling Secure Boot

Hello Microsoft Answers community,I'm having a bit of trouble enabling Secure Boot on my PC.When I enable Secure Boot and install the default secure boot keys, my PC will no longer boot and will get stuck in an Automatic Repair loop.Once I disable Secure Boot, Windows will boot just fine.I am using a Gigabyte B550M S2H motherboard paired with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600. The fTPM is enabled and is functioning.Could someone guide me as to how I can resolve this issue? Thanks.

    :)

  2. Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?

Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Oh and OSX
Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.

Enabled Encryption on Windows 10 Pro (HP machine) now it will not boot

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The' Secure Boot' settings may be toggled to 'Disabled', which may be causing this issue. You can check that from the steps below.

    1. Power the device 'Off' and then back 'On'.
    2. You should be able to find a message on the boot screen just before the manufacturer logo appears. You may need to press the 'F1', 'F2', or 'Delete' button, this is usually indicated on the boot screen.
    3. Enter the BIOS settings, look for a tab called 'BOOT' and select that page.
    4. Depending on the BIOS manufacturer, this page could be 'BOOT', 'ADVANCED', 'STARTUP', etc.
    5. Look for a setting for the 'UEFI Secure Boot'. Each BIOS could have a different name for this. These are the keywords to look for: 'UEFI', 'Secure Boot', ‘Legacy Boot'.
    6. Toggle the 'Secure Boot' setting to 'Enabled' and attempt to boot the machine.

After enabling Secure Boot, please try entering the recovery key and check if the issue still persists. If you still face the same issue, I
suggest you to post your query in TechNet
    forums
, where we have support professionals who are well equipped with the knowledge.

    Hope it helps.
