    Hello!I had purchased a genuine windows 7, which was later upgraded to 10 and I have been using it since around 2013 or so, but recently I had to change the hardware and I am not able to reactivate the windows [Error Code 0xC004F213]. In the settings, I accidentally removed the erstwhile device. Could this be the reason for not being angle to activate it?Is there any way to restore it or reactivate the windows now?ps I think I had made a backup of the product key but I had encrypted it with a password that I have misplaced since we changed our houseThank you.

    I just changed motherboards, and When I follow the the steps listed in the "reactivate windows 10 after hardware change" support page, it gives me the message "unable to activate windows" message after I sign in and identify my device,
    with no error code, just a subheader that says "can't activate windows 10 on this device, try again later."

    Windows 10 won't reactivate after a hardware change

    I changed a lot of the hardware on my device recently, however I followed the steps on the Microsoft support page to get my computer ready for the hardware change so that I could reactivate Windows 10 after I changed the hardware. However, now it won't reactivate,
    and has the error code 0xC004F025, and when I try to troubleshoot it says "We can't reactivate Windows on this device. Try again later."

    My Windows 10 was a free upgrade from Windows 7.
