Windows 10: Issues setting up a com port in XP mode in Windows 7 Pro

Just started having issues in a fairly dated Windows 7 pro machine with the embedded Windows XP. The virtual machine starts without any trouble and I can access files and so forth. The problem comes when I'm trying to Integrate the virtual com ports with the physical ones in the actual Windows 7 machine. Worked like a champ for years. But the program I was using in XP basically stopped running and I ended the program without ending communication kind of had to do it. In any case I just figured restart the machine and that would reset everything, but it didn't work out that way. I've tried pl

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Xp (or 7) PRO compatibility mode in win 10 HOME

WinXP Mode ran on Win7 as a virtual machine but did require Pro or better.
Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7

WinXP Mode was discontinued before Win10 was released.
I think a Virtual Machine would be the way to go. There may be a version available that will run on Win10 Home but I've not had such a need, yet.

 

Windows 7 to Windows XP

XP does not come for free and Microsoft no longer sells it.

And we can not recommend anywhere safe to buy it from.

And do NOT buy XP keys by themselves.

And XP is installed by doing a clean install of XP over 7

And the computer manufacturer would have had to supply Windows XP drivers for your exact model number for XP to install and work correctly.

XP is out of support, the same as 7 is.

Downgrade Rights existed for Windows 7 Pro, but only if it was an OEM Windows 7 Pro License.
