  1. Issues starting a Mobile hotspot over 5GHz

Hi, I have an Asus Z690-I motherboard which has an Intel AX210 Wifi adapter, capable of supporting up to Wifi 6E.I would like to set up Mobile hotspot on the 5GHz band for higher throughput to my Oculus Quest 2, but every time I try it, I get the error message: "The selected network band isn't available. Select a different band and try again."Any way I could get some help in turning hotspot on?

    :)

Windows 10 5GHz Mobile Hotspot Option

    Hi Richard,

What I am doing is trying to create a 5GHz hotspot on my desktop WiFi card, that does support 5GHz, to my smart tv that also supports 5GHz. The only connection I have going to my router is my desktop through a Ethernet cable. From this theoretical setup,
everything should work; but the windows mobile hotspot software is not letting me set up a 5GHz hotspot on my desktop.

    Thanks.

  4. Issues starting a Mobile hotspot over 5GHz

    Mobile Hotspot

We appreciate that you have tried the suggested steps above. Have you tried to connect other devices to the mobile hotspot on your PC?

Since the issue is still the same, we suggest that you uninstall/reinstall the network adapter driver and check if this will resolve the issue. Follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X and click on
      Device manager
      .

    • Locate for Network adaptor and click on it expand it.

    • Right click on the device and click on
      uninstall
      .

    • Once you are done uninstalling the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic network adapter driver.

We can also update the network adapter driver. Skip step 3 from the above steps and right click on the device and click on update.

Feel free to post back for any updates.
