Windows 10: Issues with Dell G3 laptop after having screen fixed

    Issues with Dell G3 laptop after having screen fixed


    I have a Dell G3 15 gaming laptop. In October the hinge that connects the monitor to the keyboard broke and I sent it away to be fixed by Best Buy. They had to replace the screen because replacing the hinge piece would include working near the cord that connects the monitor to the keyboard so to be sure they didn't accidentally break it, they replaced the whole screen.


    But now the built-in microphone doesn't work, so much so that if I plug in headphones or a microphone it doesn't work. I tested over Zoom and Discord and nothing. And now the screen is flickering whenever I lower the screen brightness at night. It will stay on full brightness in certain positions but if I want to watch something at night it's too bright and I can't hold the computer in such a way to make it stay darker. I already updated the display drivers last week to the newest Intel and GeForce display drivers, but the issue still exists. I tested the Task Manager issue so I don't think it's an app problem. Does this sound like they messed something up when they repaired the computer, or is it a new issue?


    I don't know. Please help!

    Dell G3 Speedstep not working?

    The core clock frequencies and voltage on my Dell G3 are locked at full speed and max voltage. Speed Step/C-States are enabled in the BIOS, I'm using the balanced power plan in Windows (min CPU 5%, max CPU 100%) and there is no abnormally high CPU load. I'm confused... *Confused

    Edit: The power cord plugged in was keeping the clocks at full speed. There must be some Dell specific power settings I'm missing.

    Laptop with broken screen How much?

    I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

    Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd

    2TB HDD
    4GB Graphics
    15.6" FHD Screen
    Matte screen
    DVD ROM
    MAXX Audio

    Please suggest me any other laptop which comes closer to this except Dell 5559, i7 and 16GB RAM is must
