Windows 10: Issues with directx

Having directx issues with multiple games. First issues arose with Valorant and i was getting an error that i was missing XAPOFX1_5.dll. Quick google search told me it was a direct x problem and gave a temporary solution. I downloaded the .dll by itself and placed in the system 32 and syswow64 folders as well as the game folder and it works....until valorant does an update and i have to replace the dll in the valorant folder. Annoying, yes but not the end of the world as long as it was an isolated incident.


So tried playing dayz, received a similar error to valorant. I put the .dll into dayz folder, no longer get error but i have absolutely no audio. Im really looking to fix the source of the issue this time around instead of bandaid fixing games as issues arise.


So onto what i've done so far, I've ran dxdiag and everything seems to be fine with it, no errors. Ive tried using dxwebsetup but that errors out at the end, logs basically say ive already got everything installed. I also tried running the directx redist with all of the zip files in it, received the same error.


This is a fresh windows install on a new m.2, less than 3 months ago. At the same time i installed a new graphics card. Drivers are newest from nvidia. Dxdiag log will be in comment

Step 1:

I suggest you to check the DirectX Version installed on your system.

Follow the below steps to check the DirectX Version:

• Press Windows key + R from the Desktop.
• Type dxdiag and hit Enter.
• Check the DirectX Version.

Step 2:

I suggest you to update the Graphic driver from the Device Manager and check if it works.

Follow the below steps:

• Press Windows + R on the Keyboard.
• Type in devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.
• Select Graphic driver from the list.
• Right click on the Graphic driver and click on Update driver Software.

If the issue persists then install the latest graphic driver from the manufacturer and check if it helps.

Install the latest available Windows updates.
