  1. Issues with Game DVR...

So I've been looking around for information on the Game DVR, and the only thing I've come across troubleshooting wise is Microsoft's own page, which has not helped me so far. So hopefully I can find some help here. I have two issues currently, one since my Windows 10 update hit, and another that just started now.

The first one is getting DVR to work on Final Fantasy XIV. It worked on the first time I ran the game and turned DVR on, and I recorded quite a bit. However, after I closed the game and opened it the next day, it no longer works, and the Game Bar asks if the program is a game. When I say yes, it tells me "Something went wrong and we couldn't change your settings. Try again later." It continues to say this every single time. I later purchased a new hard drive and decided to move my Steam games to it, redownloading each one I was playing. Again, Game DVR worked on the first run, and never again. Is this something with the game or is there something I can do to make it work? The recordings I did on the first runs all came out very nicely, so it seems to play well together at least?

The second issue is a more major one; I recently decided that I wanted to record some gameplay to put on my YouTube account (not really Let's Play or anything, more just for friends). Most recently, I was recording Legend of Zelda: A LInk to the Past through VisualBoyAdvance. I had no issue for hours, recording 15 ~15 minute videos. However, now, with no changes to my system or even closing and loading the program (I literally pressed stop recording and then the record button again, same as I had been for the entire time), Game DVR will start recording and instantly stop itself, giving me a 1 to 2 second long video. I've restarted my computer, forced closed the DVR Broadcast Service process, moved the folder containing the game and emulator, renamed them, literally everything I could think of, but the same thing continues to happen. I can record other items just fine (to test, I even recorded CCleaner doing its thing... possibly the most boring 10 minutes ever?) There is PLENTY of space on the drive, with 61.5 GB free, and each video was only coming to about 150-200 MB. Any ideas?

    :)

The issue IS NOT getting the xbox Game DVR to work. The issue is the DVR itself. I cannot type a lowercase G at all because of the hot key win + g that is used to activate the DVR.

    Issues with Game DVR...

Welcome to the forums. I hope someone can help with the Game DVR, I tried it and it worked sporadically. Then it started eating up memories and causing TDR warnings.

I would try MSI Afterburner, it works great for recording games.
