    Issues with reinstall on Windows Essential 2012


    Got Win10 on laptop [only 3 yrs old] thru Microsoft free download period, which recently started with sluggish performance, much freezing in programs, esp on Windows Movie Maker. Performed Defrag, all virus & malware scans [have none], and have plenty of memory & RAM left. Uninstalled Windows Movie Maker, thought it would help. Tried to reinstall Windows Essential 2012 to get back Movie Maker...but not all components will reinstall. *Sad

    Will Windows Live Mail 2011 continue to run and transfer over all stored emails

    Both Windows Live Essentials 2011 and Windows Essentials 2012 are compatible with Windows 10. They might be removed by the upgrade, but you can reinstall either and continue using Windows Mail.

    Need to restore Windows Live app to the way it was before a bad command

    System Restore is the only way to revert changes made to the system. With regards to reinstalling Windows Photo Gallery, since the support for Windows Essentials 2012 suite has already ended, it is no longer available for download. You can find out more
    about Windows Essentials 2012 Release Notes here.

    Issues with reinstall on Windows Essential 2012

    First check your system files using sfc /scannow from an admin command prompt. Check your antivirus is not blocking the Essentials 2012 installation.
