Windows 10: Issues with screen brightness

I have no way to adjust the screen brightness on my laptop. The line for the spectrum of brightness in the lower right corner that usually appears above the line for the spectrum of sound is not there, and anywhere else where I find that line for adjusting the screen brightness it doesn't work. The keys for screen brightness also don't work. Can someone explain what kind of problem am I having here?

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

  Plugged in, and then, in the list, click On or

  Click Apply. Click

Method 2:

Step 1:
Update the Display driver.

Please follow the steps given below to update the display driver.

• 
  Press Windows key + X when you are at desktop.
  
• 
  Select Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand Display adapters.
  
• 
  Right-click the display driver and click
  Update Driver Software.
  
• 
  Select Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software.
  

Step 2:

Check if there are any updates for display drivers available in Optional Updates; this might fix the issue. Refer to the following steps.

• 
  At the Start screen, type Windows Update.
  
• 
  Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select Install optional updates from the left results.
  
• 
  When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.

Screen brightness unadjustable
