Windows 10: Issues with Snip and Sketch Screenshots Pasted Into Word (Office 365)

When I use Snip and Sketch and copy and paste the results into a Word (Office 365) document, it appears blank but there is actually a picture of some sort there. At that point, scrolling around in the file into which the snippet has been pasted seems to cause rendering issues with the file, as if it has become corrupt. My Windows 10 is over a previous Windows 7 Pro installation. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office 365 (I have a pruchased 5-license plan) with the same bad results. I thought this issue might relate to Compatability mode somehow as the initial files I was pasting the Windows snippet into were in Compat. mode. This theory was incorrect; I disproved it by starting with a fresh file, not in Compat. mode, and pasting the snippet; I got the same corrupted rendering problem.

Snip & Sketch

It's the Snipping Tool that's being phased out, not Snip & Sketch. FWIW, I just used the latter tool and was able to paste the snip into a Word (Office 365) document. There was a point in the past when for reasons unknown, opening Word would clear the
clipboard. If you're using an older version, you might want to try opening the document first, before taking a screenshot.

If you prefer to use Snipping Tool, all you have to do (as I suggested earlier) is open the Start Menu and type snip.

 

Snip&Sketch copy/paste not working

Of course. The image will paste fine into other programs. There is some property that is being set that prevents it from pasting in Live Mail. If I recopy it through an intermediate program, it then pastes fine into Live Mail. I would be happy to convert
to Snip & Sketch if it weren't for this extra step in order to get a snip into an email. I want it to work just like the old Snip Tool does -- copy/paste works fine.

 

Snip and Sketch Awkward

Use Windows+shift+s to launch Snip and Sketch. Can snip a screenshot.

Now the problem is this: after snipping the screen shot, it does not automatically appear in the Snip and Sketch app. So I open Snip and Sketch and there's nothing on it.

So I have choose 'new' and snip the screen yet again.

I recall using this once and taking a screenshot and voila! Snip and Sketch appeared with the screen shot duly in the app's workspace, ready for annotations and saving etc. This facility has disappeared. I have re-set it according to instructions, and even
reinstalled it - yet the problem persists.
